Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming a trending topic in education. As AI becomes a trending topic among schools, what do teachers and students really think about AI becoming a part of education at Taylorsville High School? What different perspectives do students and teachers offer, and how are they being affected by artificial intelligence?
“AI will revolutionize education by enabling personalized and tailored learning experiences for students based on their abilities. Customized learning will provide opportunities for both high performing and struggling students,” writes Julia Davis in a July 2025 article for the evolution and future for artificial intelligence a students guide.
For the past year, AI has taken a systematic toll across education settings by enhancing and personalizing learning and automating tasks for many students, but what do students really think about the enhancement of AI across education platforms will customized learning really provide opportunities for students?
“I think it can be a useful tool, but some people will definitely take advantage of it,” said junior Evelyn Sanchez. “ I will sometimes use AI if I’m struggling, but I try not to get into the habit of it”.
As AI’s role in education becomes popular, this new shift raises questions about Artificial Intelligence impact on teachers and students. In contrast, AI still offers different opportunities for many students, such as helping with simple tasks like homework or answering questions.
“I personally think AI can easily get out of hand, and it’s probably unsafe, but I do use AI in my day-to-day life,” said junior Baylee Stockdale. “I think it depends on if I have a good teacher that actually teaches me, then no but if I have a bad teacher that doesn’t teach me then yes I do depend on AI to teach me so I can get good grades”, for me personally I think I can learn from AI because it explains stuff to me in a simpler way.”
Many students may have mixed views about Artificial intelligence. Some students are excited about its personal benefits, such as helping enhance learning, while some students have no concerns about artificial intelligence, but as AI becomes commercial in school settings, it ultimately impacts students’ views.
But what about the teachers? Their perspective also impacts educational views about artificial intelligence and by what approach is this transformation viewed by educators in school. How do teachers view this usage of AI among school settings?
“These models are no longer just about automating tasks — they are versatile support tools that people can tap into for brainstorming, practicing tough conversations, or even seeking emotional support,” writes Eugenia Rho in a 2024 article for “AI the good the bad and the scary”. She continues, “There is a potential risk of diminishing critical thinking skills if users depend too heavily on AI-generated content without scrutiny.”
Teachers may have optimistic views about AI’s role in education. While some teachers may be cautious of AI in classroom settings, how are teachers viewing this uprising about artificial intelligence in personalized educational roles?
“I disagree with Artificial Intelligence because I am an English teacher,” said Reagan Kramer an English teacher. In her view, it lacks originality and she says, “I use AI sometimes, but not very often.”
Teachers’ perspectives on AI may vary; it all depends on teachers’ perspectives and their efforts on working with artificial intelligence. As artificial intelligence becomes more integrated with classroom settings, it’s important to understand teachers’ perspectives on working with artificial intelligence and how they may think AI impacts students and schools.
Artificial Intelligence’s continuous evolution impact on societies shifts. This new shift in education brings new perspectives and attention to this topic. It’s essential to understand how this uprising in technology may impact students and teachers both.
It’s important to consider how this new uprising in artificial intelligence impacts students’ academic performances and academic benefits while using artificial intelligence and flaws as well. Equally, it’s also important in understanding how teachers perceive this new use of AI among their students, within teaching, and their personal adjustments to AI.
