Fundraisers, are they actually helpful? Well, I sure hope so! School fundraisers are made to help classes, clubs, and other programs get money to help build on plans or to help people or places. For schools, it helps them afford more and have more field trips and fun things to do and have.
Fundraisers also help with saving and making money for schools with insufficient funding. Usually, fundraisers generate around 30-50% profit for the schools.
From some students’ perspectives, Junior, Mello Hernandez says fundraisers are fun and help schools make money for certain things like fixing something or going on field trips or having parties and much more. There’s also many different types of fundraisers that can happen, like ones for free food/drink cards for certain fast food places or some fundraisers are more of a certain place in person, like selling snacks or having party/dress-up days at school or having other special events.
Another student, Jjunior Nikki Ferguson, actually got to help with a fundraiser not long ago. She would ask for $20-30, then would get a card for eight free drinks for Swig. For the person she got the money from. But from a parents’ perspectives, like Shilo Barke’s, she says fundraisers give money to parts of the school that don’t get normal funding or help things be fixed or changed within the school. She says her kids would join in with fundraisers and sell stuff like chocolate and get a treat/ toy or would be the one buying stuff like the treats or a gift card. She says she enjoys when her kids have them because she gets snacks/stuff.
According toIn the article, Are Fundraising Events Worth It? (We Did the Math!), It says there are hidden fees when hosting or having a fundraising event and they could have problems with it if they don’t get enough money or can’t get the fundraiser to work. But relationship building is the main part to help the fundraiser, it’s groups of people working together to pay and help the fundraiser and bigger groups make more money for the cause.
Shown in this article, The Importance of Fundraising for Schools | Booster, states that with insufficient funding in the US, fundraisers help build up money for things for schools and other peoples situations. For schools, fundraisers help raise money for necessities and things outside the classroom that some lower-funded schools might not be able to have. Like field trips, parties, and other fun, enriching activities.
There are many reasons fundraisers are good and helpful. They help build onto funding that schools might not have, so they can have better school supplies, field trips, parties, groups ect, etc. Everything can be made better with fundraisers if it’s done right.
