Taylorsville residents may have recently noticed the clouds of smoke and the paths of destruction down 5400 South and Redwood Road at the Family Center due to the fairly recent demolitions of buildings. [...] Although a good majority understand that it’s been very vacant the past few years with many places going out of business and ones that have been gone a long time. Alas, we had to realize a rebirth would come at some point.

Confidence leads to better life

As high school students we see our peers everywhere. They are all around us. In our classes, our lunches, before and after school, and if you are doing tutoring for extra help in your classes they are going to be there too. We also see all kinds of different kids in different cliques. You have the cheerleaders, the athletes like soccer and football players, the theatre kids, the student government, and the stoner kids.

It’s the first day of school. Students are bustling in and out of the school, debating whether or not they should have even come. The anxiety sets in and all of a sudden, the perfect group has just been found. This response is automatic and didn’t take much time. The reason being, a multitude of reasons. The American Dream: Living the perfect lifestyle

Xylina Session, Editor-in-chief October 8, 2015
The American dream is painted inside a neighborhood, a gated one that keeps little affluent children and apron-wearing wives safe from a minority whose jobs don’t quite reach a suit-and-tie status quo. The Utahn dream consists of a substantial enough income for a house that can fit all the grandkids; a tire swing in the back of the tomato garden, a four-car garage, or a dancing fountain roundabout.

Snarknado: Responsibility, an issue with the student body

Keely Valdez, Assistant Editor October 8, 2015
In the hallways, there’s always the chatter of the last weekend or this coming weekend, what plans are being made, the usual talk of a newly-released video game, and the latest gossip. School often provides students with escape from less-than-ideal home lives

Bryttni Furubotten, Reporter October 8, 2015
Even those students with the best of home lives all have difficulties in their lives. Many students have more severe issues than others but that doesn't make anyone's struggles less real. Students often wonder whether or not teachers recognize this.
