In the absence of school spirit, performers, whether they be athletes or musically inclined, lack motivation to continue the excellence drilled in practice. Without the support of the crowd maintaining a level of discipline expected by coaches becomes an increasingly difficult task for all players alike. However, for the school, there’s no problem mustering up spirit that won’t stop and an excitement level to rival pro crowds. The girls’ soccer team has been playing for a few weeks now since the beginning of their season. They play Tuesdays and Thursdays after school, usually at 3:30. The starting lineup for varsity consists of Mari Hasebi, Maizy Brubank, Autumn Jensen, Pania Clark, Marissa Croft, Steffanie, Missy, Alyssa, Ceami, Domicillia, and Aubre Bishop. They can usually be seen in the halls dressed in their uniforms on game days.

This year’s football team is off to a 4-1 start to the 2014 season after defeating the Kearns Cougars 34-0, the first game of the season. The Murray Spartans fell to a loss after the Warriors took the win with 17-13. The team’s first lost was against the Davis Darts with a brutal score of 33-0. The Warriors defeated the Olympus Titans by the score of 14-0. The Warriors would also conquer, a well known team in the State of Utah, the Alta Hawks with a final score of 23-17.
